Hey Graham, the pictures look beautiful, just like fish creek! Gill told me you will be visiting Les Hansen in California. We probabily have similar questions for him like: What three breeds he would recommend on a hill farm, mainly pasture based and with low maintenance cows? Or if the FJ crosses positives outweigh the negatives ( eg milk fever, bad temper)? I would like a two page report with some beautiful pictures of cross cows with you and Les (haha). Have a great time. Vee ps stop having such a good holiday and do some work from daniel
Together with my wife I manage a dairy and dairy-beef enterprise at Fish Creek in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. We run a crossbred herd with a strong focus on pasture utilisation.
Nuffield Australia have awarded me a 2010 Nuffield Scholarship, this blog is a photo journal of my Nuffield adventures.
Established in 1947, in the UK, the Nuffield program resulted from a bequest from William Morris (later to become Lord Nuffield) of the Morris car company.
Nuffield Scholarships were awarded to 18 Australian Primary Producers in 2010. The scholarship program provides leading primary producers with the opportunity to travel overseas to increase their general knowledge of global agricultural issues and to gain skills to benefit their industry and business.
